We made it to Florence, finally, on Sunday evening.  So far, it has been very cold.  Today it is raining.  Actually, looking out the window, I see what the weather folks on the East Coast refer to as a "wintry mix."  Not exactly what I was contemplating when I imagined being in Florence.  It really does not lend itself to much gelato eating--terrible!  Fortunately, we are here for a while and do not need to rush to see (or eat) everything in just a few short days.  The weather can't stay this way for 3 weeks, can it?
